RDC XI Launches its Online Facility
The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI launched its Online Facility (www.rdc11.net) during this year’s first regular Council meeting, in Mati City, Davao Oriental last Friday, March 28, 2008. According to RDC XI Vice-Chair and NEDA Regional Director Nicasio Angelo J. Agustin, the facility is not only intended to inform the public about the role, functions and activities of the RDC being the highest policy making body of the region, but also will be very useful in responding to the calls of today’s demand of providing venue for the stakeholders of the RDC XI to interact with one another.
Director Agustin disclosed that the RDC XI Online facility is a dynamic, interactive and user friendly website which will enable the officials and members of the Council share views and opinions on development issues in the region through the internet. Such is a feature in the online facility provided in the forum page of the facility. The five (5) Sectoral Committees and Special Committees of the Council are each provided a separate page with the same feature exclusively for their members.
Important RDC XI documents can also be downloaded from the online facility, such as the RDC XI Documentary, the Regional Development Plan for 2004-2010 of Davao Region, the Regional Development Investment Program, the Regional Physical Framework Plan,, 2003-2030, the Industry Cluster Plan for 2005-2010 of the region. The public can access these documents and can send in their comments about RDC XI.
Director Agustin revealed that the launching was witnessed by Provincial Governors Douglas Ra. Cagas of Davao del Sur, Arthur T. Uy of Compostela Valley, and Corazon N. Malanyaon of Davao Oriental, Mayor Rey T. Uy of Tagum City and Mayor Mitchell N. Rabat of Mati City, who are regular RDC XI members, Congresswoman Thelma Almario of Davao Oriental a member of the Advisory Committee of RDC XI. (noelquiratman/NEDAXI)
