RDC XI Sectoral Committees Reorganized

The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI Sectoral Committees recently reorganized in separate meetings in view of the expiration of the term of the committee officials for the period 2004-2007. This was disclosed by RDC XI Vice-Chair and NEDA XI Regional Director Nicasio Angelo J. Agustin.

Agustin informed that the RDC XI sectoral committees on Development Administration, Economic Development, Macroeconomy and Finance, and Social Development affirmed the appointment of their respective chairpersons by RDC XI pursuant to the Council’s Resolution No. 62, series of 2007.

The RDC XI chairpersons who were given a fresh mandate are Dir. Rodolfo Z. Razul of DILG XI for Development Administration, Assistant Secretary Merly M. Cruz of DTI XI for Economic Development, Dir. Cesar L. Balan of BSP for Macroeconomy and Finance, and OIC-Assistant Secretary Paulyn Jean R. Ubial of DOH XI for Social Development. These officials shall serve until 2010.

Agustin also revealed that the RDC XI Infrastructure Development Committee XI, which was temporarily headed by DPWH XI Assistant Regional Director Hadji Pundidato Mitmug when then DPWH XI Regional Director Dimas S. Soguilon was promoted to Assistant Secretary, is now chaired by Regional Director Jerome dela Rosa, also of DPWH XI.

Agustin added that the sectoral committees also elected their respective co-chairpersons who will also hold office until 2010. These are Ms. Alma de la Paz of the KAPWA Upliftment Foundation (Economic Development), Engr. Ronnel Paclibar of the Davao Constructors’ Association Center Inc.,(Infrastructure Development), Mr. Simeon Marfori of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (Macroeconomy and Finance) and Dr. Iris Milleza of Holy Cross of Davao College and Academe representative to the RDC XI (Social Development). He also revealed that the Development Administration Committee has not yet elected their co-chair. Agustin cited that the partnership of government and the private sector was maintained in the selection of the committee officials.

The Sectoral Committees also reconstituted their membership to further enhance their respective roles in providing support to RDC XI as the highest policy making body in the region. The committee membership continues to be a combination of officials of national government agencies, local planning and development coordinators, and the private sector.

Finally, Agustin said that NEDA XI remains the ex-officio Vice-Chair and technical secretariat of the RDC XI sectoral committees.
