NEDA XI Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim is CSC’s 2010 Pagasa Awardee
National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XI Regional Director and Davao Regional Development Council (RDC XI) Vice-Chairperson, Maria Lourdes Damaso Lim, is one of the awardees of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Pagasa Award in the 2010 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees.
In line with the celebration of the Civil Service Month in September, she will be recognized by the Civil Service Commission XI during an Awards Rites as part of the highlights of the 110th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary in Davao Region. As a recipient of the Civil Service Commission Pagasa Award, Director Lim will receive a CSC glass plaque and a gold (gilded) medallion, among other incentives. The Awards Ceremony at the national level is slated next month.
CSC Chairperson, Dr. Francisco T. Duque III sent Director Lim a letter of congratulations as one of this year’s Search winners. The head of the Secretariat of the Honor Awards Program (HAP) of the CSC Director Maria Luisa Salonga-Agamata, in another related communication to Director Lim, confirmed the result of the 2010 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees.
Director Lim will be featured in the 2010 Far from the Ordinary magazine, the official publication of the CSC HAP. The magazine will feature the life and career of the awardees as exemplary public servants.
Formulation of the Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (MTRDP), 2010-2016 for Davao Region
Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 3, issued on 02 September 2010, the President directs NEDA to formulate the Medium-Term Philippine Development Plan (MTPDP) and the Medium-Term Philippine Investment Program (MTPIP), 2010-2016, to be jointly undertaken by the executive and legislative branches of government in consultation with other sectors of society.
As a parallel effort, the RDC XI, through its Sectoral Committees (SeComs), spearheads the formulation of the MTRDP, 2010-2016 for Davao Region with the involvement of the Congressional District Representatives and Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs).
The RDC XI-Executive Committee (ExCom) adopted the Guidelines on the Formulation of the Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (MTRDP), 2010-2016 for Davao Region during its September 09, 2010 meeting.

RDC XI Private Sector Representative (PSR) Selection Process
The Council is undertaking the PSR selection process for RDC XI PSRs, 2010-2013.
Qualified private sector organizations (PSOs) under the guidelines may nominate a PSR candidate by filling out in the Annexes and submitting the same to the RDC XI Secretariat not later than 10 June 2010.

Concepcion III, Presidential Consultant on Entrepreneurship and founder of “GoNegosyo”, addressed one hundred twenty-nine (129) participants as keynote speaker of the 3rd Regional Development Council Private Sector Representatives National Conference (RDC PSR NatCon). This event was conducted on 11-13 February 2010 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel, Lanang, Davao City.

Implementing Partners Sign MOA on Davao Region’s Virtual Library
Davao Region’s local government units, regional line agencies, private sector and Congressional representatives have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to formally set up a web-based geographic information system (GIS) that will provide up-to-date resource information about Davao Region and its localities and environs.
The mechanism, known as the Davao Region Geographic Information Network (DR-GIN) is a web-based GIS or virtual library that provides geo-referenced information on the region’s bio-geophysical, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, as well as business and investment prospects.

DAVAO REGION’S POLICY-MAKERS GET PERMANENT HEADQUARTERS.
This National Economic and Development Authority-Regional Development Council of Region XI (NEDA-RDC XI) Center, located at Km. 7, SPED Area, Bangkal, Davao City was inaugurated last November 28, 2008. From now on, this center will be where the leaders of Davao Region will converge to formulate plans and policies for developing the region. Equipped with modern boardroom features, with a huge convention hall at the ground floor, a Knowledge Center and the NEDA XI offices at the second floor, this structure symbolizes the role of RDC XI in regional development and its commitment to serve the people of Davao Region.
