Message from the Chairperson

Welcome to the official website of the RDC XI!
This website highlights one of the significant accomplishments of the RDC XI. It serves as a platform for the state of regional affairs and part of the broader efforts for advocacy by making information more accessible to the members and to the public.
Through this website, the members and the public can now be provided with first-hand information in real time. I am glad for the Council to depart from the traditional way of disseminating information which is costly, limited and prone to delays. The RDC XI is now privileged to be part of the digital revolution!
This website is developed to: a) provide a strategic channel for the members and the public to be involved in development issues concerning the region; b) enhance coordination and cooperation; and c) promote public awareness and participation in the region’s affairs.
I am encouraging the members and the public in general, to air their views, provide feedback, comments, suggestions and insights particularly on matters requiring the Council’s response or action. A message board is provided where the members and the public can share information and stimulate discussion.
On the homepage are up-to-date information on the activities of the Council to keep the members abreast. I believe that having access to timely information promotes better coordination and improves the participation of the members. I am also expecting robust discussion of regional issues among the members in the discussion forum.
As clearing houses of issues, the members of the Sectoral Committees can perform their roles better by maximizing the use of the webpages provided for them. Issues are better deliberated and agreements are easily facilitated when the members have access to the views and opinions of other members at any given time.
The RDC’s online presence signifies its enthusiasm to know how the public can participate. For a start, it may interest the public to know what the region’s development directions and thrusts are. I encourage you to read the Regional Development Plan, the Regional Development Investment Program and the Davao Regional Physical Framework Plan which are all available in this website in downloadable format.
I invite you to visit the website regularly and contact us for any relevant information you wish to share.
VICENTE T. LAO
